Sharing couscous with Nightmare and Pine Cone Mama in Twin Lakes.

Twin Lakes Resuppy

Thru hiking would be significantly harder if it weren’t for other thru hikers. Like everyone on the CT, we resupplied in Twin Lakes, a town that doesn’t even have a stoplight, let alone a grocery. The “General Store” is well stocked convenience store, which makes resupplying for four days of hiking difficult . We visited our wonderful friend Ella a few days before in Leadville, and she offered us a 1.5 lb bag of couscous. Although I initially regretted carrying it since we already had all the food we needed, it came in handy. Three days later we were at Twin Lakes, and Nightmare and Pine Cone Mama were figuring out if the store had anything that wasn’t ramen for dinner. I lightened my pack, and they had dinners for the next couple days. Win win!
