Gila Cliff Dwellings

The route we chose ran right by the Gila Cliff Dwellings national monument, so we camped nearby and did a tour in the morning. The dwellings offer an an amazing snapshot of the Mogolllon people’s way of life, but leaves a lot of questions unanswered - why were the dwellings only used for a few dozen years?
