SNOW! Our second night in the Smokies, we got five inches or so of snow. We’d been hearing horror stories and warnings about cold weather in the the Smokies since Springer Mountain, and they delivered. During this time, we wore every layer we had, put socks on our hands, and ziplock bags on our hands and feet to stay dry. The fresh snow everywhere was beautiful. Unforgettable day of hiking.
