Gudy’s Rest

Gudy’s Rest is a beautiful spot overlooking Durango, devoted to Gudy Gaskill. She’s been dubbed “the mother of the Colorado Trail”, because she was so massively influential in it’s creation. She helped to plan it’s route, organize volunteers and worked on trail crews herself. Sadly, she passed on July 14 while we were hiking the trail she helped built. Hard to imagine a more impressive legacy.
