Rancheria Creek

Coming down from Seavey Pass into the canyon with Rancheria Creek was one of the worst sections of trail so far. The switchbacks coming down were totally snow-covered, so the descent was extremely steep. Once we got to the bottom, the trail ran next to the creek, which was running very high and fast. You can’t tell from the picture, but it’s just on the other side of the downslope of the snow bank Knock is climbing out of. Past this, we went over steep snow banks and rock scrambles angled towards the raging creek. The section ended with us climbing straight back up the canyon through thorn bushes when the creek side path became impassable.
