Historic Junk

It’s very strange to be walking through national forests and come across abandoned mining equipment, but it’s all over the west. Mostly it’s a reminder of the time people wanted to extract value from the land with no thought to the consequences, and that now that it’s public land, the Forest Service doesn’t have the resources to remove it.
